2019 Pcma European Influencers Summit: Solutions for business events disruptors

The exclusive European Influencers Summit scheduled 22-24 September in Barcelona will continue the 'Disrupt + Deliver' theme introduced in January at 2019 PCMA Convening Leaders in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. European Influencers Summit’s knowledge programme will examine internal and external disruptors to the business events industry, including economic and political issues; leadership; innovation and latest audience acquisition and engagement practices.

PCMA, a global player in the business events industry, is once again inviting hundreds of professionals to analyse and discuss issues facing EMEA’s meetings and conventions industry.

The exclusive European Influencers Summit scheduled 22-24 September in Barcelona will continue the 'Disrupt + Deliver' theme introduced in January at 2019 PCMA Convening Leaders in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. PCMA is organising its third European Influencers Summit to convene organisations that don’t traditionally meet concurrently.

“Our goal is to gather association executives, corporate business event leaders and industry professionals throughout EMEA with the purpose of together demonstrating how business events drive global economic and social progress,” said Luca Favetta, PCMA Regional Business Director, EMEA. “The exclusive programme is designed to help EMEA’s mature business events industry understand external and internal disruptors and deliver solutions to ensure success.”

Innovate + Elevate Hub

The event will feature an 'Innovate + Elevate Hub', an evolution of the 'Innovate + Elevate Arena' introduced at 2019 PCMA Convening Leaders as a new approach to the traditional exhibition space. The Learning Hub will offer key areas for experiential learning and collaboration, including a podcast studio, open workspace for attendees to continue conversations sparked by education sessions, visual depictions of selected education sessions and plenaries, among other activations that will be revealed in due course.

Tailored education

European Influencers Summit’s knowledge programme will examine internal and external disruptors to the business events industry, including economic and political issues; leadership; innovation and latest audience acquisition and engagement practices.

Education experiences may take the form of off-site learning tours, invite-only master classes, plenaries or workshops. Other opportunities include an 'Ideathon' a larger-scale hackathon seeking to prove how business events can drive global economic and social progress, and a session on the Future Trends of Meetings and Events research supported by PCMA Foundation and Marriott International.

“The (2018 European Influencers Summit) event provided such an insightful experience for me, as well as endless networking sessions that included unexpected learning opportunities”, said Carola van der Hoeff, COO, International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).
