London-based electric soul band Years & Years
headlined the evening on a make-shift stage in the foyer of the station, which is located near the Strand in central London. The audience was made up of
press, fans and competition winners.
The venue, which closed as a working part of the Underground network in 1994, has since been used as a film location and tour destination for train enthusiasts.
Mission selected the destination to promote Nokia ’s free mobile music service, Nokia MixRadio , which will stream music without a wifi connection. Guests were given the opportunity to try the service for themselves as they entered the station.
The Lumia Live Sessions tour is being run in conjunction with new music website La Blogothequ . The first session, which featured Brit award-winner Ella Eyre, was held at Dingles Fairground Museum in Devon on 29th March.
