Per dare una spinta alle vendite, in calo da qualche anno, la British Beer Alliance, un gruppo di produttori di birra, ha ingaggiato l’agenzia SapientNitro (London) con l’obiettivo di ravvivare l’amore dei britannici per la tradizionale bevanda alcolica.
Il regista di cinema Michael Winterbottom (Everyday, 2012; A Mighty Heart, 2007; Welcome to Sarajevo, 1997) gira il suo primo spot, che descrive la qualità, diversità e versatilità della birra. Per evidenziare che c’è un’ampia varietà di birre che si adattano a tante occasioni diverse in un paese multiculturale, le riprese sono state effettuate a Londra, Manchester e Liverpool e nelle campagne di Yorkshire, Lancashire e del Galles.

Sebbene Winterbottom, noto per film di realismo che catturano la bellezza nel quotidiano, abbia scelto di girare con street-casting per dare un tono di autenticità, la fotografia di Sean Bobbit (12 Years a Slave, 2013) è smaltata ed avvolgente. Il contrasto crea uno spot lontano dai recenti luoghi comuni di sport, ambienti maschili e ragazzacci.
