MCM celebrates its 40th Anniversary with a glittering evening in Munich

In a fitting homecoming, leading cultural and fashion luminaries including style icon Claudia Schiffer attended a glittering afterhours party at the company’s flagship store in the heart of the city.

German-born luxury brand MCM celebrated its 40th Anniversary in style last night with a very special evening in its hometown of Munich, Germany. Founded in 1976 in the Bavarian capital’s hedonistic heyday, MCM owes its inspirational founding elements to the city – which has long combined a passion for glamour, music, fashion and travel with traditions of high quality craftsmanship, refinement, opulence and good design.

In a fitting homecoming, leading cultural and fashion luminaries including style icon Claudia Schiffer attended a glittering afterhours party at the company’s flagship store in the heart of the city, Brienner Strasse 1. The exclusive reception embraced MCM’s current collection theme of 'Munich Epoque' – with invited press, influencers and friends of the brand dressing up for an opulent and glamorous evening.

Following the cocktail reception, MCM’s Chief Visionary Officer Sung-Joo Kim invited friends of the brand such as Michael Michalsky (Creative Adviser at MCM) and Max von Thun (actor) among others to an intimate dinner at the world famous Munich Residenz, a stunning former royal palace of the Bavarian monarchs. The gala event, held inside one of the city’s most dazzling architectural gems, symbolized the company’s ongoing pride in its German roots, marking four successful decades of style and innovation.
