EU - Europe delivers prize incentives to Hosted Buyers at AIBTM

During the first ‘Market Focus SPOTLIGHT on Europe’ at AIBTM, that took place in Baltimore from 19-21 June, 6 lucky Hosted Buyers were drawn from a business card raffle and won a Waterford Crystal Clock from Ireland, an Olympic Games Goodie Bag from Visit London, luxury leisure breaks in Barcelona, Prague, Dublin and Budapest.
The first ‘Market Focus SPOTLIGHT on Europe’ at AIBTM with some 15 exhibitors participating has also seen Barcelona Convention Bureau, Dublin Convention Bureau, Ireland, Visit London, Prague Convention Bureau and Hungarian Tourism providing prizes for a draw held at the end of the session among the attending Hosted Buyers who selected Europe as a preferred destination to place business in their application to register.

The one hour session was organised as a direct response to the AIBTM 2011 post-show research which confirmed that 60% of Hosted Buyers have a direct interest in placing business internationally.

“AIBTM is a great example of one of the new-style of shows engaging Hosted Buyers from across the business and events industry. With proven success already in Europe (EIBTM) for the Hosted Buyer programme, we are confident that the business development success we have experienced in this region will be repeated in North America” said Chris FJ Lynn, Sales & Marketing Director, North American & Emerging Markets at London & Partners.

Graeme Barnett, Reed Travel Exhibitions, AIBTM Event Director commented, “We have been working closely with European exhibitors to enhance their experience at this year’s show and as there is clearly an interest in outbound business from US buyers, this new networking feature should provide a great opportunity for buyers and suppliers to connect and generate business leads with the prize draw as an added incentive”.
