UK - Royal wedding boon to event industry

The royal wedding passed with one very significant hitch but thankfully no negative ones thanks to the work of the event industry.

Westminster.jpgEvent venue Central Hall Westminster formed a key role in wedding coverage, providing space for broadcasters including the BBC, ABC, NBC, and CBS.

Jack Morton managed the live sites in Hyde Park and Trafalgar Square as hundreds of thousands were expected to line the capital in celebration of William and Kate’s big day.

Royalwedding.jpgThe Royal Parks was very proud of the role it was playing in making the Royal Wedding a day to remember. It was in charge of preparing the procession route along The Mall and ensuring the parks next to Buckingham Palace.

360° Creative Event Services supplied seven screens for various events, including one in Warwick Castle for the royal-themed Leamington Live weekend.

Piggotts, part of the Crown Group provided five marquees, flags, banners for the media compound at Green Park, outside of Buckingham Palace. Piggotts had also supplied all the flags and bunting on Regent Street, as well as the Union Jacks on the Mall.

St Ermin’s Hotel in Caxton Street worked with London & Partners to provide a media lounge for visiting and local press to enjoy and report on the day’s events.

Bacio.jpgFor those impressed by how Kate’s dress was kept a secret until the very last moment, this was aided by Berry Maquees’ work installing screens outside the Goring Hotel to preserve the reveal until Middleton stepped out of the car and into Westminster Abbey.
