LA SCHEDA DEL PROGETTO PREMIATO

45th Uae National Day Show

Brief description: On Dec 2016 the Crown Prince Court celebrated in Abu Dhabi the United Arab Emirates and its 45 years of nationhood with a spectacular live performance.

Organising Company: Balich Worldwide Shows.

Client company: Crown Prince Court.

Dates of implementation: 02/12/2016.

Target: Public event that involved Emirates and International Authorities.

Location: Adnec Abu Dhabi.

Objective of the event: The aim of the National Day was to celebrate the United Arab Emirates and its 45 years of nationhood. The show, performed in front of a selected crowd of dignitaries, was a tribute to the many facets of the country and its history since the unification. According to the mission of the show, participants had to rediscover "Amanah" - the theme of the celebration - one of the most important Arab word that means loyalty and honesty that was as the promise of the people to the nation itself.

Creative idea and description of the event: To represent the concept BWS employed a variety of innovative components: 1) A vertical design, the background for the whole story, combined natural elements and typical UAE's shapes with a technologic and architectural device used as a narrative tool; 2) The soundtrack has been specifically composed and arranged in a unique cultural synergy by a team of local and international artists; 3) Special liquid pyro effect was staged there for the first time to underline the feeling of unity and the willpower of the great founders of the country; 4) Video content had a strong role and the projection covered 6500 m2 of floor; 5) The traditional parade has been accompanied by two jets and one apache to surround the audience from all the point of views.

Effectiveness: The audience results cannot be evaluated and the Client reserved all the rights about the event's impact.

Media Mix: As usual the communication of this kind of show was covered by embargo until the event. The share of images and videos came only after a multi-step approval process that included the Client as well as all eminent people present in the audience. BWS released a great coverage of contents that reached million of people all over the world after the show: on the website, social media, with 3.000 interactions on Facebook, and international publications. The video showreel counts about 20.000 views.

Budget: > 5.000.000 €.

Staging and set design: In the whole show the "Spirit of the Union" was conceived as a narrative flow in order to emotionally engage the audience in the formal protocol as well as the artistic parts of the 60 minutes show. The Emirati people were the main characters, the cast was composed by 2281 roles and the staff was made by more than 300 professionals. Each act highlighted the indomitable spirit of the country and the Sultan Al Nahyan. The show included a special liquid pyro effect, an original soundtrack, an incredible video content projection over 6500 m2 of floor for both sides of the stage with dunes and the presence of many camels, horses, cars, boats and planes of the armed forces. One of the most emotional moment was the one of the flag taken for the first time by 6 women.
